Harmony Between the Environment and Industry: Heesung Catalysts Leads the Way
As the world unites to overcome the climate crisis, environmental innovation at industrial sites has become more important than ever. Heesung Catalysts is leading this change with advanced environmental catalyst technology. Our environmental catalyst solutions effectively address various environmental issues occurring in industrial sites. In particular, they drastically reduce fuel slip phenomena that occur during low-carbon and decarbonized fuel usage and effectively eliminate volatile organic compounds (VOCs) generated during processes.
By doing so, we contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving air quality. Heesung Catalysts’ eco-friendly catalyst technology goes beyond regulatory compliance and supports the establishment of a sustainable industrial ecosystem. Through our solutions, customers can achieve cleaner production processes and proactively respond to future environmental regulations. By innovating emissions reduction technologies and transitioning to clean fuels, Heesung Catalysts is driving the industrial sector’s transition toward sustainability.
Together, Heesung Catalysts will help create a sustainable future where the environment and industry coexist in harmony.
Oxidation catalysts
Among Heesung Catalysts’s oxidation catalyst solutions, coastal ship engines and power generation engines are subject to domestic regulations, with specific regulatory levels varying by country. Additionally, IMO regulations govern nitrogen oxides (NOx) and sulfur oxides (SOx), while land-based regulations also cover hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), and particulate matter (PM). Heesung Catalysts recommends oxidation catalyst solutions tailored to meet these varying regulatory levels.
Nitrogen Oxide Reduction Catalysts (SCR)
SCR catalysts are essential for reducing nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions generated by marine engines and industrial sites. This is critical for meeting IMO regulations and the strengthened emissions standards under the 2017 Act on Integrated Management of Environmental Pollution Facilities.
Heesung Catalysts’s SCR catalysts are applied across various industries, including medium and large marine engines, industrial plants, incineration facilities, HRSGs, gas turbines, metal smelting and heat treatment facilities, industrial boilers, cement kilns, and petrochemical manufacturing facilities. Developed using Heesung’s proprietary technology, our SCR catalysts deliver excellent activity, sulfur resistance, low poisoning, and abrasion resistance. They are also regenerable, offering high economic efficiency.
With a product lineup capable of addressing a range of fuels, from MGO to HFO, customers can comply with regulatory requirements while simultaneously reducing emissions, protecting the environment, and cutting costs.
Greenhouse Gas Reduction Catalysts
N₂O, PFC, SF₆, NF₃, emitted from semiconductor and display processes, are potent greenhouse gases that cause an effect up to several thousand times greater than CO₂ when released into the atmosphere. Managing these emissions is critical, as they have a significant impact on climate change. Major semiconductor companies are focusing on solutions to reduce greenhouse gases.
Additionally, methane gas emissions from CNG and LNG engine after-treatment facilities, methane co-firing engines, power generation facilities, and landfills are powerful greenhouse gases that can harm the environment if not controlled. Heesung Catalysts’ greenhouse gas reduction catalysts deliver exceptional performance even under low-temperature conditions, effectively removing N₂O and simultaneously reducing CO and VOCs with outstanding durability and poison resistance.
These regenerable catalysts reduce maintenance costs and ensure long-term operational stability, enabling customers to comply with environmental regulations, reduce long-term facility costs, and achieve sustainable operations.
Room-Temperature NO₂ Adsorbent and CO Oxidation Catalysts
In tunnels, air quality can deteriorate due to nitrogen oxides (NOx) and carbon monoxide (CO) emissions from vehicles, posing safety and environmental concerns. Heesung Catalysts’s room-temperature NO₂ adsorbent is applied to tunnel NOx removal systems and localized ventilation systems, physically and chemically adsorbing NO₂ at room temperature and enabling periodic regeneration through thermal treatment.
Additionally, our room-temperature CO oxidation catalyst uses platinum group catalysts to efficiently oxidize and remove CO at room temperature. Like our NO₂ adsorbent, it is regenerable, ensuring long-term stability. This catalyst technology improves tunnel air quality, meets regulatory standards, reduces maintenance costs, and delivers exceptional economic value through long-term efficiency.
