Heesung Catalysts’ TWC Catalyst Featured in LG Electronics’ ‘GHP Super 3 Plus’ for Eco-Friendly Innovation

2022.02.18

Heesung Catalysts’ TWC (Three-Way Catalyst) has been integrated into LG Electronics’ latest commercial gas-powered air conditioning system, ‘GHP Super 3 Plus’, enhancing its environmental performance and emission control capabilities.

Advanced Emission Reduction with Heesung Catalysts’ TWC Technology

The TWC catalyst plays a crucial role in reducing air pollutants emitted from gas engines by converting harmful substances into harmless gases:

[1] Nitrogen oxides (NOx) → Converted into nitrogen (N₂) and oxygen (O₂)

[2] Carbon monoxide (CO) → Converted into carbon dioxide (CO₂)

[3] Total hydrocarbons (THC) → Converted into water (H₂O) and CO₂

With this innovation, LG’s GHP system not only meets but surpasses the stricter Korean Ministry of Environment’s GHP emission standards that took effect on January 1, 2023:

NOx: 50 ppm (Reduced by more than 30%)

CO: 300 ppm (Reduced by more than 30%)

THC: 300 ppm (Reduced by more than 30%)

Thanks to these ultra-low emission levels, the GHP Super 3 Plus became the first commercialized system in Korea to receive an exemption from emission facility reporting requirements.

Optimized for Commercial Applications

Designed for commercial buildings, schools, and medical facilities, the GHP Super 3 Plus can connect up to 58 indoor units to a single outdoor unit, providing a highly efficient and flexible cooling and heating solution.

Commitment to Sustainable Technology

Through cutting-edge catalyst solutions, Heesung Catalysts continues to contribute to both environmental protection and energy efficiency, pioneering sustainable technologies across various industries.
